Under normal circumstances this blog post would be about the phenomenal athletes that participated in the Boston marathon. Under normal circumstances we would highlight the funny characters that crossed the finish line and the college-themed antics that went on in the crowd. Under normal circumstances the day would’ve started and ended on such high notes it would be impossible to stay inside and do work rather than go out and celebrate.

Except it wasn’t a normal circumstance. In fact, it was far from it.

The city of Boston was attacked yesterday in a villainous attempt to hurt and destroy the most beloved day of the year. Marathon Monday is a day for people around the world to come together for one united cause. It’s a day to laugh, to celebrate, to have fun and to lift each others spirit throughout the course of the race.

Now, it’s a day that will be remembered for such gruesome violence.

But throughout all of the chaos and turmoil, we were able to see so many civilians run towards the explosions than away. That is what gives us hope for humanity. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone that helped in the efforts of fixing a tumultuous situation as quickly as possible. We are so lucky to have the police force, EMT’s, firefighters and innocent civilians that immediately thought to help.

Through times of hardship is where we see everyone come together. Boston will stand united.
